“My Beloved Captor”
A duel, two kidnappings, and a plot to compromise him had Miles, Earl of Stanford, wondering why he was now contemplating marriage to the young woman who stood before him. Clearly, the lady in question had a need for money, although he knew the family were not in difficulties. Whatever this was, Lady Julia Ellington, was in trouble.
Having thrown herself at him, at precisely the moment her brother appeared demanding he marry her, or pay to have the matter dismissed? Miles laughed at the suggestion, although the said lady was a beauty and he had stolen a kiss. She intrigued him, and he did need to wed. With his aunt fast approaching, he could end up married to the lady in any event. So he called their bluff, much to the lady’s dismay.
A shot fired, followed by an attempt to kidnap Julia, left him fearing for her safety. An evening at the theatre resulted in another attempt to harm. But who was the intended victim? The wedding did not stop the threats.
A plan to catch the person responsible backfired, leaving both their lives in danger.
Would either of them survive?
